Crafty Book Club – The House in the Cerulean Sea

Join us this month for a thought-provoking read and creative project inspired by The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Set in a near-future Republic of Gilead—a society built on extreme control and rigid roles—this unforgettable novel follows Offred, a Handmaid navigating the stark realities of her world. With prose that’s sharp, moving, and wry, Atwood delivers a story that is both a scathing satire and a chilling cautionary tale.

At our meeting, we’ll dive into the themes, symbols, and unforgettable imagery of the book, then shift gears into a hands-on project inspired by the story. Whether you’ve read the novel before or are picking it up for the first time, this is an evening for discussion, creativity, and connection.

As always, we will be making a craft inspired by the book while we chat and connect. Book Club is free to attend, but a $5 donation for supplies is appreciated. I had to add the charge to this because I keep getting fake "orders" for it being 0 cost.
